Happy New Year!

Once every year, Manila transform to a battlefield.  I don't want to spoil anyone's mood but I always ask myself when watching fireworks.  How much was spent for this?  How many will spend their new year in a hospital this time?  How much environmental impact does this night's revelry will do to mother earth?

Here's a video of fireworks taken from our balcony.  Stay safe everyone and have a happy new year.

This is Lucha Libre!

A Luchador is a Mexican wrestler/fighter who normally wears a mask.  They are known for their high flying aerial  maneuvers and fast paced sequences of moves called the Lucha Libre style of wrestling (translated in English it means Free Fighting or Free Wrestling.)

I consider my self as a Luchador and let me explain why I believe that my life is but Lucha Libre.

My life is a battle- everyday I need to conquer a lot of things whether it's beating the clock, beating a deadline, beating a red light or just simply wanting to beat up something or somebody (joke, but yeah I get that feeling a couple of times.)

My life is fast paced - 24 hours is not enough and sometimes sleep is hard to get by.  It's hard to set aside time for work, family and myself and that is where the stress comes from.

My life is free style - it's anything goes inside my arena.  Funny thing is I got a couple of planners this Christmas.  But I really don't rely too much on a plan because there is a higher chance that things don't normally go as we have planned it.  So the best way is to risk hedge instead.  Always have plan B ready, trust me Plan B is the real plan.  Frustration happens when you fix yourself on a plan and it didn't work out well.  So why frustrate yourself?

My life is high risk - everyday you'll never know what's behind the door.  So keep I keep my hands up in alert and ready to strike, grapple or defend.  If I can wear a helmet and a bullet proof best so much the better.

And sometimes I would have to wear a mask.  Behind the joy and the pain you would always have to look as solid as a rock.

So come to think of it, aren't we all Luchadors?

So welcome to the daily battles of a Luchador Dad.  Techie, Corporate Guy, who loves Music/Books/Movies/TV/Sports.  This is Lucha Libre, anything goes, what ever I would like to rant or rave about.

And yes, I do love WWE wrestling.

Enjoy the ride.
